Core Objective

The primary responsibility of the Drill Operator is the safe and efficient operation of various items of plant and equipment on EQH and client sites. The Drill Operator is responsible for routine pre-start procedures and maintenance tasks and is responsible for the presentation and appearance of the plant under their operation.

The Drill Operator will act with integrity, honesty and communicate with stakeholders, whether internal or external, in a professional and appropriate manner at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND TICKETS

Essential

    • Appropriate Plant Operating Tickets (as required for site)
    • Current Construction Industry Blue or White Card
    • Current Drivers Licence – Minimum C Class (Manual)
    • FKG Corporate Induction (Module 1)
    • FKG Site Induction (Module 2)
    • FKG Manual Handling Induction
    • FKG Vehicle Management Induction
    • Site Specific Inductions (if applicable)

Desirable

    • Vocational qualifications in civil construction (e.g. Certificate III Civil Construction – Plant)
    • HR Class Drivers Licence
    • Current First Aid Certificate
    • Workplace Health and Safety Qualifications
    • Santos Level 1 and Eastern Queensland Inductions
    • Origin Energy Contractor Induction
    • Electrical Industry Generic Induction
    • Operate Vehicles in the field – 4WD Driver Competency

SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

    • Extensive experience in plant operation and civil works
    • Lo-drill and soilmec experience
    • Experience in ‘cast in place’ piles
    • Bridge building experience
    • Understanding of civil construction
    • Well developed communication skills
    • Pride in work and a positive approach to all tasks
    • Demonstrated commitment to safety
    • Basic maintenance skills for completion of standard maintenance tasks

Desirable

    • Previous experience in construction dams, subdivisions, substations and other civil developments
    • Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills
    • Experience with sheet piling
