More Than Gear: Inside the New Ezyquip Website

More Than Gear: Inside The New Ezyquip Website
More than gear: inside the new Ezyquip website

You are flat-out running a project. The last thing you want is to lose half an hour hunting through a clunky website for the one machine you need, then start again from scratch to find the truck that goes with it.

That frustration is exactly what the new Ezyquip website was built to kill. We have rebuilt the whole thing around how you actually work, so you can find the right gear, put it together and get on with the job.

“The biggest driver behind the project was creating the user experience our customers deserve,” says Brett Lenz, Sales and Marketing Manager at Ezyquip. “We wanted a site that is simple and easy to navigate, so customers can find what they need quickly, without the frustration of bouncing around guessing what we thought they wanted.”

The name was always the promise

There is a reason the business is called Ezyquip.

When the name was chosen, the brief was short. Make it EZY. Easy for our customers, easy to do business with, nothing overcomplicated. The people behind it liked the sound of it, and they liked what it stood for.

Getting the gear you need should not be hard. For a long time, the name carried that promise on its own. The new website is us making good on it, front to back.

Built around how you search

While it served its purpose, the old site got it wrong: it was siloed. If you did not already know exactly where to look, you were stuck.

So we started again from the way people actually search. We set up tracking tools to monitor how customers moved through the site, then rebuilt the navigation based on what we saw. You can now search by industry, by machine, by brand or by the task in front of you.

That matters because no two customers start the same way. Someone in mining looks for gear differently than someone in civil, road construction, ports, waste management or oil and gas.

“Not every customer starts their search the same way,” Brett says. “Some know the machine they want. Others know the brand. Others simply know the task they need to get done based on the industry they work in. The site can handle all three.”

With more than 170 product categories, that could have been overwhelming. The challenge we set ourselves was to make a big fleet feel small and simple. “Our name is Ezyquip,” Brett says. “We want our customers to navigate our site in the easiest way possible.”

The gear that goes with the gear

Finding one machine is only half the job. Most of the time, you need a few things working together.

So when you land on a machine, the site does some of the thinking for you. Look at an excavator for a job, and a “Frequently paired with your gear” section shows you the machines that tend to run alongside it on that kind of job. Shifting dirt? You will not have to start a fresh search to find the dump trucks to cart it away.

Think of it as a cart. Add every machine you need to a single bundle enquiry, send it through, and one of our team members will get back to you to confirm the details and provide a price. You build the fleet you need, we quote it, and you are moving. It is the knowledge our people carry every day, built into the site, so you get the benefit of it in a few clicks.

More than a machine on a float

The bigger shift is this. Ezyquip is more than gear.

We are still hire and maintenance specialists. That is the core. But we do a lot more than drop a machine on your site and leave.

We service equipment on-site and off. We supply operators and labour. We can supply decals to customer machines. And we sell gear as well as hire it, so it is worth saying plainly: you can buy from us, not just hire.

The one to pay attention to is servicing, especially out in the regions. “We do not just service our own machines,” Brett says. “We can come out and service yours, and put fitters on your project for the long haul.” On a remote job, that is the difference between a breakdown costing you an hour and costing you a week. Less downtime, more done.

Never a dead end

The best part is what happens when we do not have what you are after.

The old way was a dead page and a shrug. The new site never leaves you stuck. If the gear you want is not there, a prompt pops up: ” Cannot find what you are looking for? Contact us, and we will find it for you.

From there, it is your call how to reach us. Go straight to your nearest branch, fill out a quick form, call 1300 399 784, or submit your bundle enquiry. One-click, one job, one team on the other end of it.

One question behind every decision

None of this happened by accident. It took well over twelve months, and Brett describes it as a labour of love.

Every call along the way came back to the same test. “Does this make life easier for our customers?” Brett says. “If the answer was no, we did not do it. If it was yes, we built it in.”

That is the whole philosophy in one line. “The website is not about what Ezyquip wants,” Brett says. “It is about what our customers want. They told us they needed a simpler, smarter way to find equipment. That is what we have delivered.”

Whether you own your own machine, estimate budgets for a Tier 1 project, or manage a council fleet, the job is the same: less time searching, more time getting the work done.

You have a problem to solve. We are here to solve it as easily as possible.

FAQ

What has changed on the Ezyquip website?

The whole site has been rebuilt around how customers actually search. You can now find gear by industry, machine type, brand or task, add related machines to a single bundle enquiry, and get a quote in a few clicks. The navigation, the search and the back end were all reworked with one goal: to make it easier to find the right equipment fast.

Does Ezyquip do more than equipment hire?

Yes. Alongside plant and equipment hire, Ezyquip provides on-site and off-site servicing and maintenance, operators and labour, decal fitting, and used equipment sales. The servicing capability, particularly in remote areas, is designed to keep your gear running and your downtime to a minimum.

Can I buy equipment from Ezyquip, not just hire it?

Yes. In addition to hiring, Ezyquip sells equipment through its gear sales range on the site. It is a newer part of the business, so if you are after a machine to own rather than hire, it is worth a look or a call.

What if I cannot find the machine I need on the site?

You are never left at a dead end. If the gear is not listed, a prompt invites you to contact the team, and Ezyquip will track it down for you. You can also reach your nearest branch directly, fill out a form, or call 1300 399 784.

Take a look for yourself

The new site is live. Have a look at how EZY it is to find the gear you need, build your bundle and get a quote.

If something could be easier, tell us. This site was built on customer feedback, and it will keep getting better the same way.
