Simpson Desert Challenge: Nick’s training and fundraising journey so far

Nick Darcy Simpson Desert Challenge

With less than 3 months to go until our National Business Development Manager Nick Darcy starts his 250+ kilometer trek through the Simpson Desert, his training and fundraising journey is still well underway.

Of his fundraising efforts, Nick says “I’ve raised about $25k so far, but I’d like to raise over $40k for Youngcare if I can.”

“I still have a couple of sponsorship opportunities that I’m hoping to fill, and we have another raffle in the works with some pretty cool prizes that have been donated by very generous people. The amount of support I’ve received in helping me fundraise has been nothing short of amazing.”

Many of Ezyquip Hire’s suppliers and partners have shown their support by taking up Nick’s sponsorship opportunities, including Wren Heavy Haulage, Grays Australia, Brisvegas Machinery, Robson Civil, The MJ Smith Group, and CEA.

In addition to Nick’s fundraising activities, his training schedule is in full swing with 3 training sessions per week with the rest of the trekkers, plus his own daily walks and hikes.

“My morning hikes have actually become a bit of an Ezyquip team workout lately. Everyone’s kind of jumped on board and are getting into it as well.”

Youngcare’s “adventure of a lifetime” kicks off on the 20th of May with all funds providing appropriate housing and amenities to young people with disabilities and high care needs.
