Ezyquip has been named a finalist in the Large Employer of the Year category at the 2026 Queensland Training Awards, Darling Downs South West Regional Final.
It’s a finalist nod, but it’s still a result worth celebrating. Being shortlisted in a category that recognises Queensland businesses with 100 or more full-time equivalent employees puts Ezyquip alongside some of the region’s strongest performers when it comes to developing people.
Why we’re in the running
The judges recognised Ezyquip for creating real career opportunities across the equipment and heavy machinery sector, through hands-on, on-the-job learning, structured technical training, and leadership programs that help people grow into more senior roles as the business grows.
It’s not a token effort. Since 2008, Ezyquip has built a team of skilled fitters, boilermakers and auto-electricians available around the clock, alongside a pool of qualified operators supporting branches across Queensland and the Northern Territory. Investing in people isn’t a side project here, it’s part of how the business gets the job done for clients across mining, civil, renewables and beyond.
It’s also the same reason Ezyquip can go where a lot of other companies won’t — a thousand kilometres from the nearest town is only manageable with people who know how to keep gear running out there, and that starts with how they’re trained.
What it means
For the team, this nomination is a reminder that the work put in every day — mentoring apprentices, upskilling operators, backing people to take the next step — doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s the kind of recognition that reflects what’s already true inside the business: that the people behind the gear are what make Ezyquip reliable. It’s also a good reminder that if you’re after that kind of career, there’s a place for you on the team.
“Being named a finalist is a proud moment for our team because it reflects the culture we’ve worked hard to build. We believe investing in our people is the best investment we can make, and it’s rewarding to see our commitment to training, mentoring and career development recognised at this level.”
Thanks to our clients
None of this happens in isolation. The training and development behind this nomination exists because of the clients and customers who trust Ezyquip with their sites, their deadlines and their equipment, day in and day out. Every apprentice mentored and every operator upskilled is, in the end, in service of getting the job done properly for the people we work with. This nomination is as much a thank you to our clients as it is a recognition of our team.
The event
The Darling Downs South West Regional Final will be held on Friday 14 August 2026 at Oaks Toowoomba, marking 65 years of the Queensland Training Awards. Winners from each region go on to represent their region at the state final later in the year.
Whatever happens on the night, being named a finalist is a strong result, and one the whole Ezyquip team should be proud of.
